Hits & Misc. #04: Plants 🌱
Happy New Year etc. 🥳
We’re halfway through January and everyone is resolved to less of this and more of that. Meanwhile, I’m over here combing the archives for whatever plant-based bookmarks I’ve got… because I’m already ready for spring ⏳.
We can do this, friends. Let’s grow!
PLANTS Tote 👄
There’s so much to love about this tote from Fuzzco + One Part Plant. It’s equal parts “Audrey II” and “Rolling Stones logo” and it’s just screaming for your attention!
Plants Sweatshirt 🥼
Looking for a sweatshirt that simply says “PLANTS?” Valley Cruise Press has got you covered.
“Mother Earth’s Plantasia / warm earth music for plants…and the people who love them” 🎧
At the time of is release, If you wanted this synth album (for plants) from 1976, there were only two ways to get it: head to the Los Angeles plant shop that commissioned it, or…buy a Simmons mattress from Sears. Today, you can play it for your plants with one click of a button thanks to a bunch of crate diggers and YouT*be’s algorithm.
Garden Variety 🌼
Back in late 2019, Londoners Jacob Anstey and Sara Helm started turning data recorded from houseplants into these stunning ambient soundscapes. Sadly, the project and its beloved “Bring your own plant” listening parties went dormant shortly after the pandemic kicked into full gear 😢.
Misc 🌸
If you missed it on the ‘gram last week: I’m hosting my good buddy Mike Edel for a house show on Saturday February 11th. Mike’s a stellar songwriter with a lot of great albums under his belt and his solo sets are always fun.
If you’re around town, you should come hang with us! 🤘
If you’re not around these parts, you should definitely listen to his latest album and then watch this documentary chronicling its creation!
And cheers to Mike for letting me get a little romantic with this tour poster. The colour in those flowers was just begging to make an appearance in the typography and once that was realized, the rest fell into place! 🌸
