Hits & Misc. #07: RandomBot š¤
Itās been a while since my last newsletter. Itās been busy. But good busy. Spring has been full of exciting design projects and I canāt wait to share some of this work as it goes public over the next few months.
Until then, Iāve got a pair of random stories to share before diving into five recent personal projects you may have missed elsewhere onlineā¦
1. Luigi Primo: a best wrestler, make a best pizza! š
Iām not sure where I first came across the pizza-wielding pro wrestler Luigi Primo, but I canāt stop laughing at his entry over on Party World Rasslinā Wiki āwhich will undoubtedly change over time, but currently includes lines like:
āWhen he has his opponents down on the mat, he's been known to ātopā them with cheese and vegetables in a grotesque perversion of the pizza-making process.ā
and
āAt, WrestleSlam I: Riots of Spring, Luigi Primo did battle with his tormenter and widely purported son, Pastaman.ā
And it gets better: check out this deep dish from an interview with Wrestling Inc. where Primo takes on the nature of a ācalling.ā
"On the other hand, I've seen how much people like it and how much it resonates with them. And I love it and I'm passionate about it," Primo stated. "But for me, a calling is not just something like 'Oh, I love to play "Pac-Man," it's my calling because I love to do it.' The second half of a calling is other people calling you to do it and being like, 'Wow, this means a lot to us.'"
2. Jackassery Will Not Be Tolerated in Seattle's Only Flag Contest š©
I donāt know how I missed Seattleās 2019 flag flap⦠but Iām still laughing/inspired after being recently brought up to speed. Itās a whale of a tale and you should read all about it here before heading over to the flagās official About page for merch and more tomfoolery. š³
